What is the Rapture?
Many Christians believe the "caught up" in this verse refers to "The Rapture" and is the first part of Christ's second coming. (The first coming was as baby in the manger who led a sinless life and was the messiah who died for ALL sins on the cross.)
It is important to know the following:
The Bible consists of two major parts.
The Old Testament is God dealing with people during the Old Covenant/Promise/Testament. This summed up in a few words was God choosing a people (Israel), setting them a part physically from the world, giving them the law of Moses, using that law to show that ALL are sinners and need a covering, instituting the shed blood of perfect animals to cover that sin so that God could dwell with His people in a temple of stone and prepare them for the Messiah (The first coming).
The New Testament is God dealing with people during the New Convenant/Promise/Testament. This summed up in a few words was God choosing a people (anyone who believes on the Name of Jesus), setting them a part spiritually from the world, giving them the law of Grace, using the law of Moses to show that ALL are sinners and need a covering, instituting the shed blood of His perfect son - Jesus Christ to cover that sin so that God could dwell with His people in a temple of flesh and prepare them for the Messiah (The second coming).
It is also important to know that The Holy Bible was originally written in old languages which were locked in time as it were. The exact meanings of the original languages can be found through careful study of documents found from that time period. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and contains 39 separate books. The New Testament contains 27 books and was originally written in either Aramaic or Greek, but eventually all books were translated into Greek, because sort of like English today, almost everyone spoke a little Greek.
Therefore, by studying the original Greek language for this verse (1 Thessalonians 4:17) from the New Testament we see the Greek word harpazo (har-pad'-zo) which means .... catch away, caught up, pluck, pull, or take by force.

It is the intent of the author to allow people to freely copy this web site and put up something similar all over the world! When the rapture occurs there might be a huge effort to control information as some people struggle to gain power and control while the rest of the world struggles to gain answers. This is a natural reaction to such a catastrophic occurrence. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to have thousands of web pages all over the world declaring The Answer to those left behind. Please join with me and if you do put up a web page, please let me know.
